About K Prime

Since 1989, the K Prime laboratory has maintained California State Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program certification.  The laboratory also holds internationally-recognized ISO 17025 certification for testing and calibration laboratories as well as CPSC accreditation as a third-party, independent testing laboratory.

K Prime was founded by Ph.D. Analytical Chemists as a consulting firm offering litigation support and data validation services for high-profile court cases involving product liability, wrongful death, as well as large sampling and analysis projects. The K Prime Laboratory was developed to address the needs of K Prime’s consulting chemists and their clients.  The K Prime Air Toxics laboratory began providing EPA TO-14 analysis from SUMMA canisters in 1989 and added additional testing capability over time, focused on supporting attorneys, manufacturing and engineering firms, as well as governmental organizations, with the highest quality data and services.

In 1996, the laboratory was relocated from Richmond, California, to Santa Rosa, California, where it currently operates a full service testing facility. The lab utilizes the latest state-of-the-art instrumentation and is staffed by highly experienced and trained analytical chemists who are focused on providing excellence in both science and service.

The success of sampling and analysis projects relies on a comprehensive understanding of the goals behind the decision to test. These projects may be driven by regulatory, legal, failure analysis, product development purposes, or a combination thereof. It is crucial to select and perform the appropriate testing methods, considering factors such as method validation, compounds of concern, detection limits, accuracy and precision, and the potential for false positives and negatives in the specific matrix being tested. K Prime excels in this area, guiding clients from project inception to final reporting with the expertise of its consulting analytical chemists.

This results in successfully defining and achieving the testing project goals and is one reason that K Prime has become known as the go-to laboratory.
